Cattle Tickicide
Recommended Uses
For the control of synthetic pyrethroid susceptible strains of Cattle Tick (Boophilus microplus) including chlorinated hydrocarbon-organophosphorus-amidine-resistant strains, Paralysis Tick (Ixodes holocyclus) and New Zealand Cattle Tick (Haemaphysalis longicornis) on cattle, horses; and Brown Dog Tick (Rhipicephalus sanguineus), New Zealand Cattle Tick (Haemaphysalis longicornis) ticks on dogs.
Note: In some areas, strains of Cattle tick may exist which are resistant to Bayticol.
General Description
A liquid concentrate which is mixed with water and applied by dipping or spraying cattle and horses, or rinsing dogs. Product efficiency is not affected by water quality or water hardness. While it is not desirable to treat when heavy rainfall is imminent, the product is not adversely affected by light rainfall after treatment. At the recommended rate, and on susceptible strains, efficiency is greater than 99 per cent.
Bayticol is effective against sensitive strains of cattle tick, but resistance may develop to any tickicide. If lowered level of control is experienced, resistance testing of your ticks is recommended. Bayticol should be used at intervals of not more than 19-21 days to control cattle tick (Boophilus microplus). Bayticol controls Paralysis Tick (Ixodes holocyclus) and New Zealand Cattle Tick (Haemaphysalis longicornis) on cattle and horses. To control these ticks when active the treatment interval should be 10 days. Bayticol is compatible with externally applied Buffalo Fly Spray, vaccination and normal management procedures such as castration and dehorning.
